Nuclear Medicine Technologist Earnings

The median annual wage for nuclear medicine technologists was $72,100 in May 2014. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $52,080, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $96,570.

In May 2014, the median annual wages for nuclear medicine technologists in the top industries in which they worked were as follows:

• Outpatient care centers: $75,330
• Offices of physicians: 74,390
• Hospitals; state, local, and private: 71,780
• Medical and diagnostic laboratories: 69,070

Because imaging is sometimes needed in emergencies, some nuclear medicine technologists work evenings, weekends, or on call.
